Looking Back: Gaga Pits and Soccer Goals
During the 2025–2026 school year, Reidville PTO fundraising supported the purchase of new Gaga pits and soccer goals for our school.
These additions expanded the outdoor play options available to students and continue to provide opportunities for movement, recreation and teamwork. Here’s a closer look at what the project included.
What Was Purchased
The order included:
Two 15-foot inground Gaga pits with rubber flooring systems
Two 6-foot by 4-foot Gopher Keeper steel soccer goals
Two 12-foot by 6.5-foot Jaypro Classic Club soccer goals
Nets, replacement nets and net clips
Built for Daily School Use
The permanent Gaga pits are secured with 36-inch ground spikes and constructed from four-inch-thick, UV-stabilized recycled plastic designed for frequent outdoor use. Each pit includes interlocking, heavy-duty recycled rubber flooring that improves traction and ball response. A complete pit and flooring system weighs approximately 1,605 pounds.
The smaller soccer goals feature powder-coated steel frames and UV-protected braided nets. The larger goals use powder-coated aluminum frames, galvanized steel supports and a recessed attachment system that helps keep the nets securely in place during play.
From Fundraising to Installation
Funds raised through Stuff-a-Pal and Boosterthon contributed to the PTO’s general fund, which supported this project along with other school needs.
The soccer goals were installed in spring 2026. The Gaga pits were installed over the summer, with the second pit completed in September after part of its original shipment did not arrive with the rest of the order.
Project Cost
After a $1,994.48 promotional discount, the final equipment order—including shipping and sales tax—totaled $11,382.45.
Fundraising in Action
This project created additional opportunities for active play, movement and teamwork at Reidville Elementary.
Thank you to the families, volunteers and PTO leaders whose support helped make it possible. We’ll continue sharing both current projects and past investments so families can see how PTO fundraising benefits our Rockets.
