Accepted Answer

Businesses may support approved PTO events, programs and school needs through monetary sponsorships, designated contributions, gift cards, food, supplies, prizes, printing, professional services, coupons or other appropriate products and services.Opportunities vary based on current needs and the school calendar. How can we pay or deliver a contribution?

Monetary contributions may be made online through Zeffy or by check payable to Reidville Elementary School PTO and mailed to 
Reidville Elementary School PTOPO Box 598, Reidville, SC 29375Gift cards may be delivered physically or electronically. Products and other physical contributions may be delivered or picked up by arrangement. Please coordinate with the PTO at reidvillepto@gmail.com before delivering food, products, printed materials or other physical contributions to the school at 520 Main St, Reidville, SC 29375.

Will the PTO promote our business?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the opportunity, the PTO may acknowledge a community partner through its website, Facebook, Instagram, applicable event materials, signage, apparel or PTO communications.Recognition depends on the contribution and the specific opportunity. All recognition arrangements must be confirmed before the partnership is finalized.Sponsor acknowledgment recognizes the contribution and does not imply endorsement by the PTO or school. Businesses are not provided access to student or family contact information.

Can we provide coupons or promotional materials?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Coupons and special offers may be considered as part of an approved community partnership.The offer, quantity, expiration date, format and distribution method must be approved before anything is printed or delivered. Submission does not guarantee distribution.The PTO cannot guarantee exclusivity, customer response or a particular return on investment.

Can representatives from our business attend or volunteer at an event?

Accepted Answer

Representatives may attend approved community events when attendance is included in the confirmed partnership arrangement.Anyone assisting with event operations must complete the Spartanburg District Five volunteer application, required background check and approval process before volunteering. Sponsorship does not waive these requirements.Participation during the school day or inside the school building requires specific approval from school leadership and may be subject to additional restrictions.District volunteer information:https://www.spart5.net/page/volunteers

Are contributions tax-deductible?

Reidville Elementary School PTO is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Eligible charitable contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.If a sponsor receives advertising, goods, services or other benefits in return, the deductible amount may be limited to the portion of the contribution that exceeds the fair-market value of those benefits.The PTO can provide written acknowledgment describing donated property but will not assign its monetary value. The value of donated time or services is generally not deductible. Written acknowledgment and a copy of the PTO’s IRS determination letter may be requested.

Are all proposed partnerships accepted?

Accepted Answer

No. Contributions, requested designations, promotional materials, recognition arrangements and event participation requests are subject to approval by Reidville Elementary School PTO and school leadership.All contributions must be appropriate for an elementary school community and support an approved PTO purpose. The PTO does not accept contributions or recognition arrangements that promote political candidates, partisan activity, religious doctrine or proselytizing.
